From demolished hotel foyer, to holding your doors open/closed.
This chestnut beam has been given new life as a smooth-to-touch doorstop. The product has been sealed with a non-toxic hybrid oil which is wear and water resistant. The larger existing splits have been stabalised with black epoxy resin, giving them a tactile and visual separation from the visible chestnut grain. The handle, set into the block, is formed of industrial gas pipe fittings, and a synthetic hemp rope (100% recycled ocean bound plastic). Iron works have been coated with a matt varnish to resist corrosion and prevent production grime transfer. Four discreet rubber feet provide resistance to sliding on floor surfaces.
A soft, semi-perminant furniture pad is provided, should you wish to create a 'gentle' contact between door and stop.
NB Although this doorstop has been formed using reclaimed wood of a considerable age, and has been sealed with a high quality eco-friendly oil, it can be subject to environmental influence. Basically, small cracks could appear, or it can change shape slightly, often with the seasons, depending on where it lives (humid kitchen/dry lounge etc etc). This is normal, natural, and it absolutely will not fall apart, or distract from it's handsome looks :)
